Using Filters on the CSUMB Experience Study Reports
What are dashboard filters?
Dashboard Filters enable users to limit the data set returned on a dashboard to just the data available for the group the user selects. For example, you might apply a "Major" filter for "Biology" if you wanted to see only data for respondents that had Biology as their major.
Dashboard filters location
Dashboard Filters are available on the CSUMB Experience Study reports at the top of the dashboard directly below the dashboard title.
Making dashboard filter selections
Step 1: Open the dropdown menu for the Dashboard Filter you wish to make a selection in. You will see that the first option "(All)" is checked so that All results are selected by default. To make subset selections, first deselect the checkbox for "(All)".
Step 2: Select the checkboxes for one or more values in the Dashboard Filter for the subsets of data you would like to analyze.
Step 3: Click the "Apply" button at the bottom of the Dashboard Filter menu to apply your selections to the analysis. The analysis will refresh and the data returned will be limited to those matching the filter selection you applied.
Removing dashboard filter selections
When a filter selection has been made, you will see selected values listed in the Dashboard Filter Menu rather than "(All)"
To clear your dashboard filter selections, there are two options:
Option 1: Click the button to clear filter selections and replace with "(All)" values selection.
Option 2: Open the Dashboard Filter Menu. Select the checkbox for "(All)" selections. Click the "Apply" button.
