Academic Program at CSUMB represents the program type to which a student applies and is admitted and from which the student graduates.

Academic Programs are found within CSUMB's three overarching academic careers: undergraduate, postbaccalaureate, and extended education.
Examples
At CSUMB Academic Programs are distinguished by:
- Extended Education programs (e.g. Ex Ed Graduate, Ex Ed Post-baccalaureate [2nd baccalaureate], and Ex Ed UG Baccalaureate [1st baccalaureate])
- Post-baccalaureate programs, including all non-extended education graduates, credential and 2nd baccalaureate programs (e.g. Postbac Second Baccalaureate, Postbac Certificate, Postbac Credential, Postbac Masters, and Postbac Transitory Visitor)
- Undergraduate programs (e.g. Undergraduate Baccalaureate, Undergraduate Open University, and Undergrad Transitory Visitor)

"An academic program is the program to which a student applies and is admitted and from which the student graduates. For instance, at a 4-year liberal arts college, the academic program is a liberal arts undergraduate program. At a larger university with a college of fine arts, a school of engineering, and a college of arts and sciences, the academic programs correspond to those broad categories. At a graduate school, there can be a distinct academic program for every area of study, such as a doctoral program in mathematics and a doctoral program in molecular biology."[1]
