BLS Age Group

BLS Age Groups are groupings of individuals' ages into groupings used by the U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics in their reporting of demographics in labor force statistics.

BLS Age Groups are calculated by taking the difference between an individual's birth date and the snapshot calendar date, dividing by 365 days to get the age in years, and rounding.

  • 16 to 19
  • 20 to 24
  • 25 to 34
  • 35 to 44
  • 45 to 54
  • 55 to 64
  • 65 years and over
