On the Courses Dashboard and Academic Planning Database (APDB) Dashboard, class sections can be Combined and share resources such as a facility, meeting times, and instructors. Filtering or grouping by the academic unit (e.g. subject or academic group) may result in seeing partial data for Combined Sections.

For example, BIO 392 and ENVS 392 are combined sections that share resources such as class rooms, meeting times, and instructors. When filtering or grouping by a subject (e.g. BIO), the metrics on the dashboard would reflect only the way that students are registered in the class (e.g. showing only the BIO 392 students) rather than the sum of all students across all combined sections utilizing those resources (e.g. both BIO 392 and ENVS 392 students). To see the combined resources, you would need to select both subjects in a filter or select the resource (e.g. meeting time, facility ID, instructor).

Business Rules

A course may be co-scheduled with another course if the units and CS Number are the same, and they must meet at the same day / time and place for the entire duration of the course.
