Cumulative Engagement

Cumulative Engagement describes the cumulative level of engagement of a student across all weeks of the term, as determined by a student's click interactions on page links in a given Canvas course.

For every course, each student’s usage data are collected and compared against the usage data for all students in this particular course.

The comparison result is summarized using a color-coded User Engagement Level and displayed on a weekly basis and cumulatively for all the weeks that have been completed during the semester.

Cumulative engagement values range from 0 (no engagement) to 4 (high engagement).

Examples

  • 0 = No Engagement
  • 1 = Low Engagement
  • 4 = High Engagement
