Degree Checkout Status tracks the status of a student once they have applied for graduation through completion of their program.

Business Rules
- When a student applies to graduate, their degree checkout status is set to "applied".
- After the student's record is audited by a graduation counselor, their degree checkout status is updated, generally to "in review".
- Once a student is graduated, their degree checkout status is set to "awarded".
- In the instances where degree requirements are outstanding, the degree checkout status is set to "denied".
