Major Degree Name
Major Degree Name identifies the name of the major area of study for which a degree was conferred in the primary ERSD file.
In the supplementary ERSD file, Major Code identifies additional major areas of study for which a degree was conferred. Major Degree Name corresponds with a major code and is associated with a HEGIS or CIP Code.

Applicable codes are delineated in the document entitled "The California State University Index of HEGIS Codes for Disciplines, Majors, and Minors, Including Fifth Digit Assignments" (AP & RP 72-48, Appendix 7).
