Yield

From CSUMB Data Glossary
Jump to navigation Jump to search

A Yield, as used in admissions funnel reporting, is a percentage calculated between each step in the admissions funnel process (e.g. applicant to admit, admit to confirm, admit to enrollment, and confirm to enrollment).

The yields are calculated by taking the number of potential students that proceed to the subsequent step in the admissions funnel process divided by the number of potential students from a previous step.

Examples

For example, the applicant to admit yield is calculated by taking the number of admitted potential students and dividing by the number of applicants to derive the percentage.

Likewise, the admit to enrollment yield is calculated by taking the number of students that enroll and dividing by the number of potential students that were admitted to derive the percentage.
