- Biographical information (name; entry status to the university; birth information; contact information; gender; race/ethnicity; parent/guardian information; financial information; etc.)
- Academic history (high school information, course work, and GPA; completion of A-G subjects; standardized test scores such as SAT and ACT; colleges attended, coursework, and GPA; prior academic standing; etc.)
- Supporting information (if specified)
- Other supplemental information as designated by particular programs

The California State University Application for Admission, available through Cal State Apply, provides a common and centralized application service to simplify the process of applying to all campuses and programs within the CSU System.[1] Prospective students select the programs they wish to apply for and submit one application that includes all necessary materials. Once an application is received by Cal State Apply, the materials are transmitted to all of the programs and campuses that a student has selected to apply.
The Cal State Apply Applicant Help Center provides documentation and support on the Application.
CSYOU (requires login) provides technical documentation on Cal State Apply, CMS integrations, and the WebAdMIT application.
The Application Processing Timeline provides a general overview of the timeline in which Admissions processes applications.
Business Rules
Deletion of Applications Records
Applications that have been deleted in OASIS may appear in previously captured data in the CSUMB Data Warehouse.
Applications may be deleted for a few different reasons:
- Application processing issue: Admissions has had a couple of occurrences of issues with WebAdMIT overnight processes that created duplicate and triplicate applications. The duplicate and triplicate application records were deleted.
- Duplicate IDs: when Admissions identifies a duplicate ID (same person with two different Emplids), any applications on the "Bad ID" are deleted and recreated on the "Good ID". Usually the "Bad ID" is also deleted. In instances where the "Bad ID" can't be deleted, the "Bad ID" will continue to exist minus the application record.
- Incorrectly created manual application: very, very rarely, someone creating a manual application will use the wrong academic career, so the application has to be deleted (can't change academic career on an application).
