Instructional Weighted Teaching Units

Instructional Weighted Teaching Units (WTU) is the expected number of hours per week spent on a particular instructional assignment. It is weighted by the type of activity. For example, lab or activity sections may take more time per class unit than a lecture section.

A full load per term is 15 weighted teaching units.
One Faculty FTE equals 15 WTUs.
