Non-Resident Alien Indicator specifies whether or not a student is a non-resident alien (i.e. not a citizen or national of the United States and who is in this country on a visa or temporary basis).

"Y" values for Non-Resident Alien Indicator are assigned to student records when a student's visa permit type is "F" or "J". All others are assigned "N" for Non-Resident Alien Indicator.
