Position Count is a unique count on position number. Position numbers are assigned for each position description.

Position count differs from record count (which counts every row in the table) and headcount (which counts every person uniquely).
Multiple people may hold the same position, so the Position Count is often less than the record count and headcount. In addition, a single person may have multiple positions (for example, in different departments), so the record count and the position count are often greater than the headcount.
