Student Group
Student Groups enable tracking and reporting on students by participation in activities, clubs, sports, student government, and other groupings. Students can be tagged and appear on dashboards in multiple Student Groups.

At CSUMB, Student Groups are used in part to group students for registration priority.
Business Rules
Student Groups that appear on the dashboards in the CSUMB Data Warehouse have been whitelisted to only display student group categories that have been requested because of their analytic utility.
If you have a student group that does not appear on the dashboards that you would like to appear, submit and Data Warehouse development request ticket.

"Student groups enable you to set up groups (such as Athlete or Freshman) and assign these groups to individuals. Then you can perform actions (such as run reports and processes) on a group, which affects all of the individuals in the group."[1]
