Academic Program Action

Program Action is a change to a student's academic program data. When you execute program actions to change a student's program data, the corresponding program action status often changes. Program actions identify, for example, when a student applies, is admitted, changes their major, or graduates.

Business Rules
- A program action of "matriculated" indicates that a person has completed all necessary steps to become an active student in an academic program. The program status is updated to "active".
- A program action of "activate" indicates that a student is ready either to enroll in a term or to be evaluated for transfer credit. The program status is updated to "active".
- A program action of "administrative withdrawal" indicates that a student is withdrawn for administrative reasons. The program status is updated to "canceled".
- Program actions of "data", "program change", or "plan change" indicate that data relative to a student's program, plan, or career status was changed. Generally, the student has applied to graduate, changed their degree objective or changed their major. The program status remains unchanged.
- A program action of "leave of absence" indicates that a student is taking a leave of absence from their program. The program status is updated to "leave of absence".
- A program action of "completion" indicates that a student has completed their program. The program status is updated to "program complete".
