Student FTEs (Full Time Equivalents)

Student FTEs (Full Time Equivalents) represent instructional activity. Student FTEs is calculated using the total units enrolled and academic program. For graduate students, Student FTEs is calculated as total units enrolled divided by 12. For all others, Student FTEs is calculated as total units enrolled divided by 15.

On the Academic Planning Database (APDB) dashboard, Student FTEs are also sometimes referred to as course FTES. The Student FTEs reported on the APDB dashboard include state-supported sessions only. The Courses dashboard provides course FTES, which include state-supported and self-supported sessions.
