On the Pre-Census Snapshots Dashboard Enrollment page, Headcount Year Ago is the headcount of students enrolled for the term which precedes the selected term by one year and on the calendar date one year preceding the snapshot date selected.

Examples
If "2020 Fall" is selected on the dashboard as the term and "08/31/2020" is selected as the snapshot date, then Headcount Year Ago represents the count of students enrolled for 2019 Fall as of the data loaded into the the CSUMB Data Warehouse the morning of 08/31/2019.
